About the event
The Vision of CodaFest
CodaFest was created to bring Codas together in a way that has rarely existed before.
For many Codas, life has always been lived in the space between worlds—between Deaf and hearing, between languages, between cultures, and often between responsibilities that began far too early. While Codas grow up deeply connected to Deaf culture and American Sign Language, their experiences are often misunderstood or invisible in both Deaf and hearing spaces.
CodaFest is a place where those experiences can finally be seen, understood, and shared.
This gathering is designed to create a space where Codas of all ages can come together to celebrate identity, reconnect with culture, and explore the unique experiences that come from growing up in Deaf families. It is a place for storytelling, laughter, reflection, learning, and healing.
At its heart, CodaFest is about community and belonging.
